Sliding glass door won't slide

Why sliders get hard to open here

The bottom track is a channel that collects everything: sand from the beach, salt on the wind, pollen, pet hair, lanai debris. The rollers ride on that channel. When it's packed, the door drags. Near the coast, salt also corrodes the track and the roller hardware, which makes it worse.

What track cleaning involves

Vacuum the loose debris, scrub the channel, rinse, and wipe it dry. If the track has a raised rail, the groove on either side gets cleared too. A clean track usually restores a door to gliding with two fingers. We do this on every slider as part of a home clean; it's not an add-on.
