Hard water spots and sprinkler stains
If your windows look cloudy or spotted even right after they've been cleaned, it's usually mineral deposits from sprinklers or well water baked onto the glass. Regular cleaning won't touch it. Restoration will.
What hard water spotting is
Treasure Coast irrigation water is high in calcium, magnesium and iron. When sprinkler spray hits the glass and dries in the sun, the water evaporates and the minerals stay behind. Over months they bond to the glass and build up into a white or rust-colored haze.
Light spotting sits on the surface and comes off with the right compound. Heavy spotting that's been there for years can begin to etch the glass itself, which can be improved but not always fully reversed.
How we remove it
We use a mineral-removal compound worked into the glass with a pad, then rinse and squeegee. It's slow, careful work and it's done pane by pane. We don't use razor blades to scrape spotting off tempered glass.

Keeping it from coming back
Adjust sprinkler heads so they don't hit the glass, or ask your irrigation company to swap the heads nearest the windows for low-angle nozzles. A recurring exterior clean also keeps new deposits from having time to bond.

Can hard water stains be removed from windows?
Usually, yes. Light to moderate mineral spotting comes off with a restoration compound. Heavy etching that's been baked in for years can be improved but may not be fully removable, and we'll tell you that up front after testing a pane.

Will vinegar or CLR fix hard water spots on windows?
Sometimes on very light spotting. On deposits that have been there a while, household products tend to smear the haze around and can damage window frames and seals. Professional restoration compound is safer and works on heavier buildup.
Do sprinkler stains damage glass?
Over a long enough time, yes. Minerals left on the glass can begin to etch the surface. The earlier it's treated the more completely it comes off.
